Kostas Bakoyannis visited the seat of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople where he was warmly welcomed by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
The Ecumenical Patriarch gave his wishes and blessings to the newly elected Mayor of Athens, congratulated him on his election and wished him every success.

The visit of the new Mayor of Athens to the Phanar coincided in time with the three-day meeting of the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, which was held for the election of new hierarchs. So the new Mayor of Athens had the opportunity to meet and talk with them.
