The statements made by Metropolitan Seraphim of Kythera, who claimed that the vaccine against coronavirus was a product of abortions, led to the intervention of the judicial authorities.
According to protothema.gr, the head of the Piraeus Court of First Instance gave an order for an urgent preliminary examination to investigate any ex-officio offences. The examination was assigned to a Public Prosecutor.
The Metropolitan made those statements during the Vespers Service at the Church of Estavromenos on Sunday, the 27th of December.
The coronavirus vaccines “are a product of abortions,” the Metropolitan of Kythera said. “This product that comes from killed embryos will be injected into our bodies,” he added. He even claimed that the Pope was also aware of that but his opinion “was not taken into account.”
He carried on speaking of conspiracy theories: “They want to create a ‘metahuman’, a mutated man, a man who will be like a robot.”

A few days ago, as reported by protothema.gr, the Metropolitan had stated that he intended to defy the rules for the protection of public health. He said that he would open his church for worship: “We will open the churches. Let them come and arrest us! We have already said that before. We can not discriminate against our flock. We ask some of them to get in the church and others to stay out.”
