With the blessing of Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, Metropolitan Theokletos of Ierissos and Mount Athos sent Archimandrite Chrysostomos Maidonis with a team of doctors to help the missionary ministry of the Metropolitan Church of Kinshasa.
Archim. Chrysostomos Maidonis, following the blessing and instigation of the Patriarch of Alexandria and with the help of Metropolitan Nikiforos of Kinshasa, visited the cities of Kisangani and Isiro where he celebrated the divine liturgy and met with the faithful of the newly-founded bishopric of Kisangani.
The team of doctors, which arrived in Kinshasa on May 19, stayed there for 15 days. They examined a total of about a thousand indigenous peoples and, with the help of the Holy Metropolis, offered free medicine to the students of the Theological School and the parishes of Saint Barbara and Saint Archangels.
The Health Center includes outpatient clinics for medical emergencies, a maternity clinic, a microbiological-hematology laboratory, an ophthalmology clinic, a dental clinic, an ultrasound clinic and patient rooms.
For the fourth time in the last two years, this year, a group of doctors, after being invited by Metropolitan Nikiforos of Kinshasa, responded to his call and voluntarily offered their services.
