On Sunday, March 28, the Greek Independence Day was celebrated in the Metropolis of Axum.
In the morning, Metropolitan Daniel of Axum presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint Frumentius.
During the Divine Liturgy, the Greek Community of Addis Ababa performed the annual memorial service for the repose of the souls of the great benefactors.
This was followed by a Doxology and a memorial service for Greek Independence Day. Then, laurel wreaths were laid in memory of the heroes who fought “for the faith and the homeland.”
The Metropolitan of Axum read a message from the Patriarch of Alexandria on the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution.
