During the meeting with Ambassador of Ukraine Sergii Shutenko, Deputy Foreign Minister Konstantinos Vlasis underlined the strong ties between Greece and Ukraine and the strong presence of the Greek community in Ukraine.
According to the announcement by the Foreign Ministry, the deputy minister referred to the importance of teaching the Greek language in schools and universities abroad, made a special reference to the Greek community of Mariupol and Odesa and informed the Ukrainian ambassador that he was planning to visit Ukraine in the coming period.
On his part, the ambassador of Ukraine to Greece referred to the excellent relations between the two countries, underlining the possibilities for further development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. Sergii Shutenko also noted the significant number of Greeks living in Ukraine as well as the strong interest in the Greek language and culture.
