On Sunday, January 3, 2021, the fortieth-day memorial for the Metropolitan of Caesarea, Petros, was held.
The Protosyncellus of the Holy Metropolis of Axum, the Great Archimandrite, Fr. Chrysostomos Barberis, presided over the Divine Liturgy and the memorial service at the Community Cathedral of Saint Frumentius.
Fr. Chrysostomos conveyed the message of Metropolitan Daniel of Axum, emphasizing that “the late Metropolitan Petros was a genuine shepherd, supporting Orthodoxy and the Greek community in East Africa, including Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Djibouti, for forty years. Our local Church and our Patriarchate is grateful to the late hierarch and will always remember his work with respect.”
