The Holy Metropolis of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Irakleio and Chalkidona announced that the former Metropolitan of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia, Konstantinos, fell asleep in the Lord.
The funeral service will take place at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Agioi Anargyroi (Holy Unmercenaries) in Nea Ionia at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24.
The hierarch’s body will arrive at the Metropolitan Cathedral today, January 23, at 4:00 p.m. and the Trisagio service will be offered by Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia accompanied by the clergy and the Vigil service will follow.
On Friday, in the morning of January 24, Metropolitan Gabriel will preside over the Arhieratic Divine Liturgy.
The hierarch’s body will be laid in repose for the faithful to pay their respects from 4.00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service.
