The Synaxis of the Holy Archangels Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and the Other Bodiless Powers was solemnly celebrated at the Holy Temple of the Holy Cross and Archangel Michael in London, in the Golders Green area.
On Sunday, Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain presided over the Divine Liturgy along with the Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese, Archim. Nikodimos Anagnostopoulos, and Archim. Mr. Nifon Tsimalis.
The Metropolitan spoke about the feast and offered a gift to the Greek Cypriot Association of the Metropolitan Police of London, a holy icon of the Archangel Michael depicted as the patron saint of Great Britain.
On the day of the feast, Bishop Maximos of Melitene presided over the Divine Liturgy, along with the Protopresbyters, Fr. Ioannis Sourligas, Fr. Vassilios Papathanassiou, and Fr. Konstantinos Papageorgiou.
The skull of Saint Neomartyr Demetrius of the Peloponnese (1779 – 1803) was placed in the church for worship, which was accompanied by Fr. Ioannis Sourligas from the Metropolitan Church of St. Basil of Tripoli where it is kept, after the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Mantineia and Kynouria.
