On Monday, August 9, 2021, the feast of the glorious great martyr and healer Panteleimon was celebrated under the Patriarchate of Jerusalem in his holy Monastery, located southwest of the Patriarchate within the walls of the Gate of David.
On this feast the Church honors Saint Panteleimon, named the first Pantoleon, as the son of Eustorgius, a pagan father and mother of Christianity, Euboulis, a native of Nicomedia, from whom he was taught, the faith of Christ, becoming known as a Christian from the treatment of a blind man, tortured for this and martyred by cutting off his head during the reign of Maximian in the year 305 AD.
In honor of Saint Panteleimon, a Vespers was celebrated in the evening and a Divine Liturgy in the morning at the above Monastery, presided over by Archbishop Philomenos of Pella, with the participation of Archimandrite Isidore and Archbishop George and Elder George Fr. Evlogiou and praying in monks, monks, popular believers from Jerusalem and pilgrims.
During the Divine Liturgy, Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem visited the Monastery for worship along with the Fathers of the Hagiotaphites.
After the Divine Liturgy, head-nun Haritinithe, who curated the Monastery and hagiographed the Holy Temple well, received the Patriarchal and Hierarchical Synod and the congregation.
