The Holy Epiphany was solemnly celebrated at the Holy Church of Saint Stefanos in Constantinople.
The Metropolitan of Derkoi, Geron Apostolos, performed the Orthros and the service of the Blessing of the Waters, and then he cast the Holy Cross into the waters.
The representative of the Consulate General of Constantinople, Nikolaos Emirzas, Commercial Attaché of Greece in Constantinople, representatives of the Consul General of Greece, Georgina Sultanopoulou, Dr Vassilios Karabelias with his wife and their children, the President of the Church Council, Konstantinos Ioannidis, members of the committee and the faithful attended the service.
Four young people from the community dived into the cold waters of the Sea of Marama. Young Nikolaos Eraslan found the cross and, therefore, he was blessed and offered a fair amount of money. The rest of the swimmers were blessed too.
After the end of the services, the Metropolitan blessed the Vasilopita and wished a Happy New Year and all the best.
