Τhe director of the Press Office of the Archdiocese, Haris Konidaris, announced today “encouraging news” for the health of Archbishop Ieronymos.
“Not only is his health condition stable, but his fever has dropped as well. At the moment, he is afebrile”, Konidaris said.
“It is the second day of his hospitalization and because there is a great deal of concern and anxiety among all the Greek people, I am informing today so that we can all be sure that things are good as they are evolving,” he stressed.
Asked what the Archbishop was telling him about the need for self-protection from Covid-19, Konidaris underlined: “The most important message he sent once again, because it is a message he has been sending since the beginning of the pandemic is a resounding message, a clear message, which is gaining even more power, as it is given at a time when he himself is going through this very great ordeal, which thousands of our compatriots and millions of people across the universe are going through.
It is a message addressed to all, especially to the faithful, as we are a country where the vast majority is Orthodox and attends church: “Observe with religious reverence these measures, these sanitary rules set by the competent authorities of the State, because otherwise you create a big problem for yourself and your loved ones. Take all the necessary measures so that everyone stays healthy”.
