The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew referred to the timeless offering of the Holy Church of Christ, which “embodies and symbolizes the idea of universality, the spirit of dialogue, the culture of peace and brotherhood”, during his speech, at an event that took place on the afternoon of Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the Sismanogleio Palace of Constantinople, and was dedicated to the 30 years of his Patriarchal ministry.
As part of the event, the book “Bosphorus. Bouquet of 30 short stories by Alexandra Papadopoulou” was presented. Alexandra Papadopoulou was an activist and novelist from Constantinople who lived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Ecumenical Patriarch and the attendees were welcomed at the Sismanogleio Palace by the Consul General of Greece in Constantinople Georgia Sultanopoulou. Historians from Constantinople and Greece spoke about the book and work of Alexandra Papadopoulou.
