On Saturday, April 13, 2024, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew led the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom in memory of the Martyr Predecessor, Saint Gregory V of Constantinople, at the Patriarchal Cathedral of Saint George. Following the liturgy, he embarked on a pilgrimage to the place of Saint Gregory’s martyrdom, the Closed Gate, where he offered prayers, lit a candle, and laid flowers in reverence.
Similarly, members of the Patriarchal Court and other pilgrims paid their respects at the site of the martyrdom of Saint Gregory V and sought his blessing.
