Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrived at the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on the afternoon of November 13, 2019, during his visit to the Holy Metropolis of Belgium and Exarchate of The Netherlands and Luxembourg for the Golden Jubilee celebrations.
The Ecumenical Patriarch and his entourage arrived at the Orthodox Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas, where the clergy, the people and a group of young children welcomed him and offered him flowers. Then, the Ecumenical Patriarch presided over the official Doxology sang by the Head of the Church and Archieratic Commissioner to Luxembourg, Protopresbyter Panagiotis Moschonas. In his speech, the Ecumenical Patriarch expressed his heartfelt joy at being welcomed in Luxembourg and in the Church of Saint Nicholas. Finally, a festive reception was organised in honour of the Patriarch at the parish centre of the Church.
