In honour of the eight centuries of autocephaly of the Serbian Orthodox Church, on the 125th anniversary since the birth and 40 years since the repose of Venerable Justin of Celije, the consecration service of a Three-Altar Church dedicated to Saint Sava, Holy Martyr Justin the Philosopher and Venerable Mary of Egypt – the Testament Church of Venerable Justin of Celije – will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at the monastery of Celije near Valjevo, Serbia.
St. Justin, known simply as Avva, had one final wish; he told his disciples to publish his work and the revenue should be allocated to the St. John Chrysostom Fund with the aim of constructing a three-altar church in the Monastery of Celije in honour of St. Sava (central altar), St. Martyr Justin Philosopher (southern altar) and Reverend Mary the Egyptian (Northern Altar).
The dream of Venerable Justin began to come true when the architect prof. Predrag Ristic made a church design. In 2007, the grounds were consecrated at the site of the former orchard in presence of twelve hierarchs. Construction work continued until 2019 when interior works were completed.
