Church-State relations at the center of today’s Parliament session

The debate on the revision of the constitution recommended by the Review Committee continues for a second day at the plenary session.

At the heart of today’s session are state-church relations, the political oath, individual, labour and social rights, and the protection of the family.

In particular, two thematic sections of revised provisions will be discussed.

The first section is:

– Relations of the Church State (Article 3 par. 1,2,3, and introduction of interpretative statement)
– Religious freedom (Article 13 par. 5)
– Election of President of the Republic, οath, (Article 33 par. 2)
– Oath of Members of the Parliament (Article 59 par. 1 and 2)

The second theme includes topics such as the free development of personality, personal freedom (Article 5 par. 2) and the protection of the family, marriage, maternity and childhood, and rights of persons with disabilities (Article 21 par. 1 and 3 and adding paragraph 7).
