The debate around the Holy Communion has “unduly” arisen, the Church of Crete stated in a relevant announcement.
The hierarchs of the Church of Crete clarified that the Holy Mystery of Eucharist was non-negotiable while regarding the way of offering the Holy Communion they stressed that the tradition of Church attest that “it is not a source of illness, therefore it is not subject to debate.”
After making clear that it stays away from fanaticism, aphorisms and dangerous experiments, the Church of Crete urges us “to rely on the Faith of the Saints, without exaggeration and fear” since receiving the Holy Communion presupposes faith “without second thoughts and doubts.”
It is also stressed that it is perhaps necessary now more than ever in these difficult times to strengthen and reinforce our faith, to heal our weaknesses, to remain steadfast in our faith in our Holy Church so that we come out stronger from our common ordeal.
