Chechen Islamists on the side of the “Orthodox Russians” attack Ukraine

by Efi Efthimiou

For the fourth consecutive day, Russian forces are pounding against Ukraine, with the Ukrainian people firmly resisting the flagrant violation of their national integrity and the invasion of their country by a foreign power.

The Ukrainian people have to deal with another phenomenon, which should concern – at least – every human being, let alone a Christian Orthodox.

Chechen Islamists are side by side with the Russian forces, according to the international news agencies.

Chechnya’s leader and a close ally of Russian President Putin, Ramzan Kadyrov, stated yesterday that Chechen fighters have already been deployed inside Ukraine.

Russian Orthodox soldiers will have on their side, when they attempt to invade the Orthodox Kiev, the help of Chechen Islamists shouting “Allahu Akbar.”

A war always causes sadness, anguish for those in danger, especially when it takes place on the European continent that has known for decades the brutality of war.

What is terrifying, however, are the videos and photos of Kadyrov’s 10,000 fighters preparing to enter Ukrainian territory, while shouting “Allahu Akbar”.

On the side of an orthodox country, which even promotes and demonstrates its orthodox “identity”, trying to determine and have a say in what is happening in the Orthodox Church, violating sacred rules and decisions of Synods, only to serve its own interests.

Everyone’s hope is that the war will stop. Nothing will be the same as before though. And this will not leave unaffected the developments in the reality of the ecclesiastical community.

As much as the propaganda there is, when even from domestic (Greek) media, unfortunately, with supposedly Christian sensitivities, they aim to “wash away” the consequences of the Russian invasion of a sovereign state.
