Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis visited the Greek Community of Tasmania and had a lengthy meeting with the members of the Board.
The Bishop was accompanied by Father Dimitrios Katsis, Parish Priest of the church of Holy Trinity, Hobart.
From the outset, Bishop Bartholomew on behalf of Archbishop Makarios of Australia expressed his gratitude for the mutual respect and cooperation that exists since the establishment of the Archdiocesan District of Canberra.
In turn, the Greek Community expressed their gratitude to the Archdiocese and Archbishop Makarios for providing them with a priest to serve the spiritual needs of the area.
Bishop Bartholomew once again emphasized the importance of love and unity and that any mistakes that occurred in the past must remain in the past and we must look forward, ensuring we preserve our faith, language, and culture.
The Bishop then thanked the President of the Greek Community Emmanuel Kalimnios and his Committee for their kind invitation to meet. Moreover, Bishop Bartholomew wished on behalf of Archbishop Makarios a blessed Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New year.
