Bishop Jovan of Sumadija celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in front of the church of Sts New Martyrs of Kragujevac in Sumarice district on the occasion of 78 years since the shooting of more than two hundred citizens of Kragujevac by German occupation forces.
In honour of Sts New Martyrs of Kragujevac, pupils of the Theological Seminary of St. John Chrysostom sang responses. Bishop Jovan blessed slava loaf with Jovan Aleksic, the founder of the Sumarica church.
He also served with the clergy and faithful people the Acathist to the Holy New Martyrs in front of the V3 monument. The event took place on October 21, the day when the school children and their teachers were shot.
