On Sunday, March 10, Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Perth, presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. Nektarios in Dianella.
Following the Divine Liturgy, a Doxology was performed to commemorate the centenary of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia and the recent support from the Mother Church of Constantinople in establishing a Holy Eparchial Synod in Australia and approving the new Constitution of the Holy Archdiocese. Archbishop Makarios of Australia’s relevant Encyclical was also read aloud during the service.
Later in the day, the Parish of Saint Nektarios hosted a fundraising carnival meal at the Archdiocesan District hall, attended by approximately 250 people. Bishop Elpidios was present, and attendees were entertained by the performances of the dance group from the Pontian Brotherhood “Agios Georgios”.
In the evening, the Castellorizo Brotherhood of Western Australia held its annual dinner at “Castellorizo House” in Hawthorn, with over 200 attendees. Bishop Elpidios conveyed Archbishop Makarios of Australia’s paternal blessings and love to all present and briefly discussed the centenary of the Holy Archdiocese and the newly approved Constitution by the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
