The Theological Academy of the Archdiocese of Canada, where its future priests study, is facing financial difficulties. Due to the pandemic the Archdiocese of Canada has canceled some events which saved money for its smooth operation.
To replenish a part of this income, the Academy will be officiating a Sarantaleitourgon (Forty days Divine Liturgies) in anticipation of the great feast of Christmas.
In particular, the letter states that every year a golf tournament and two graduation ceremonies are organized which this year cannot be held due to the pandemic. Instead, the Theological Academy of the Archdiocese of Canada announced that from November 15 to Christmas Eve, December 24, at the Church of St. John the Theologian, a Sarantaleitourgon (Forty days Divine Liturgies) will take place to commemorate the names for the health of the living and the souls of the departed. The Theological Academy of the Archdiocese of Canada appealed to the faithful for the donation of a financial aid for the students of the academy along with the sending of the names of their loved ones.
