Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, speaking to the staff of the “Evangelismos” and “Sotiria” hospitals, highlighted the need for cooperation of the Church with Science.
The Archbishop wanted to express his gratitude and admiration to the Administrative, Medical and Nursing staff of all the hospitals across the country and to wish them Merry Christmas. He therefore spoke online with the Administrators and representatives of the “Evangelismos” and “Sotiria” hospitals.
“You teach benevolence more than all of us,” the Archbishop stressed. He referred to the recent adventure of his health, noting that “I carry with me an experience, the experience of the pandemic, but the image of these good people, who took care of me, remains alive in me and especially the nursing staff whose sacrifice and effort moved me more”.
He also wished, “May God strengthen you in your work and your families. May God help you in the cultivation and progress of science and do not forget that science and the Church are today called to a cooperation for humankind” and added that human life is the greatest value in this world.
