“Education is the best investment,” said Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece during the sanctification service for the start of the new school year at the day nursery “Annunciation of the Theotokos” in Dilesi.
The Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese, Bishop Symeon of Thespies, officiated the service in the presence of Metropolitan Georgios of Thebes and Livadeia and parents.
In his speech, the Archbishop said he was moved and stressed that “this day nursery is changing course today. The day nursery is under the auspices of the Metropolis of Thebes, the Church Welfare Organization and the Vafeiadakeio Foundation.
The Archbishop also wished that this day nursery would continue to be creative and contribute to the overall progress of the region while congratulating and thanking the Metropolitan of Thebes, all the staff of the day nursery and of the Vafeiadakeio Foundation.
He also urged parents to invest in their children’s education, noting that “There has recently been a lot of talk about the investments in our country, but the best investment is the education of our children, their education in schools and their mental development in general.”
The Metropolitan of Thebes said it was a moving day and wished every blessing and advancement in the lives of the children while thanking the parents who place their trust in the Church. The Metropolitan stressed that we believed God’s presence in this structure and that was very important for the progress of children.
