Archbishop Eirinaios of Crete was admitted to the General University Hospital of Heraklion today at noon as he was having trouble breathing.
According to the hospital administrator, Georgios Chalkiadakis, who spoke to Flashnews.gr, the medical examination showed that the Archbishop had respiratory failure and doctors recommend “conservative” treatment.
However, as a precautionary measure, it was decided to move the 87-year-old Head of the Church of Crete to the Intensive Care Unit.
