The Archepiscopal Vicar of Canberra, Archimandrite Prochoros Anastasiadis, paid a visit to the headquarters of the Australian Federal Police and held a meeting with the Greek-Australian Police Detective Mick Calatzis as reported by vema.com.au.
During the meeting, Fr. Prochoros proposed that an annual Trisagion service should be established for the fallen police officers, and a priest should be appointed, who will serve the spiritual needs of the police members.
Finally, Fr. Prochoros announced in advance that the Holy Archdiocese would soon honor Calatzis for his contribution. On his part, the police detective said he was excited, noting that this was the first time that the Church showed such an interest in the police staff in Canberra.
