The historic Church of the Annunciation in Melbourne will re-open its doors to the faithful for the first time since the devastating fire in 2016.
The restoration works are expected to proceed until the upcoming festive season when the faithful will be able to go to the church again in full respect of the measures taken to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
The Church of the Annunciation was built 120 years ago in East Melbourne and has been the only church where Greek Orthodox believers can go to in Victoria for almost 60 years.
It was the first Greek Orthodox church to be built in the state and the second in Australia. The first one was the Church of the Holy Trinity in Sydney.
