The believers who will gather in Hagia Sophia for the first Muslim prayer must be “armed” with a mask and… patience on Friday.
While inspecting the conversion of Hagia Sophia into a mosque again today, the Governor of Constantinople, Ali Yerlikaya, then gave details of the first prayer that will take place tomorrow while asking the guests to bring with them four things: “Mask, prayer mat, patience and understanding.”
The invited believers will be able to enter Hagia Sophia at 10:00. The monument will be accessible from eleven different checkpoints.
The traffic around Hagia Sophia will be stopped from 20.00 tonight.
In the courtyard, prayer areas have been prepared separately for men and women.
The Hagia Sophia “Mosque” will remain open until Saturday morning for prayer.
Ali Yerlikaya also announced that one hundred and one ambulances will be on call along with an air ambulance.
