The Pastoral Training Foundation (P.T.F.) is an autonomous Ecclesiastical Legal Entity of a non-profit nature of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens (I.A.A.). Its main purpose is to strengthen and improve the qualifications of both clergy and laity, through the provision of high-level educational programs, taught by academics, researchers and specialists with recognised competence.
The successful completion of the programs of the P.T.F. grants to clergy and civil servants the Certified Training Certificate, based on the Training Certification system in the public sector (article 64 of Law 4415/2016).
The Board of the P.T.F., whose president is Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece, decided to implement training programs by using the method of distance education, in addition to lifelong learning.
These programs, which are addressed to the whole country, are part of the implementation of the Act “Human Resource Development and Capacity-building in Social Welfare Services with Emphasis on Church Structures”, co-financed by the European Union and national resources.
