The leader of Potami Stavros Theodorakis referred to religious neutrality and separation of state and church.
Speaking at yesterday’s parliamentary sitting on constitutional reform, Theodorakis said: “The laws, the rules, the institutional framework and ultimately the constitution are not unquestionable truths.”
He pointed out that there should be a separation of state and church and underlined, addressing to the government, that it was hypocritical to talk about religious neutrality in Article 3 and not to amend Article 16(2), which stipulates that the state’s basic mission is the development of religious consciousness.”
“The liberals dare to say ‘yes’ to religious neutrality. No other party dares to say all those things that seem self-evident for a modern European country,” said Stavros Theodorakis.
