Bishop Prodromos of Toliara and Southern Madagascar celebrated the Divine Liturgy yesterday morning at the Church of Saint Dionysius in Ilion.
The hierarch of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, who has spent many years in missionary work, celebrated the Eucharist at the invitation of the parish priests.
Referring to the difficult living conditions in Africa and the adversities of the mission in his eparchy, he stressed, among other things, how lucky the people of Europe were because certain values and goods are taken for granted whereas many African peoples have never heard of these values.
Bishop Prodromos thanked the Metropolitan Athinagoras of Ilion, Acharnes and Petroupoli for the permission and blessing.
