On Thursday, November 3, Archbishop Makarios of Australia visited the Consulate General of Greece in Sydney, in return for the visit of the new Consul General, Ioannis Mallourtis, to the headquarters of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia.
The Archbishop wished Mallikourtis strength in his duties, expressing confidence that he will live up to the expectations of the Greek State and the Greek Diaspora of New South Wales. Moreover, he estimated that the Consul General, in the short time he has been in Sydney, has shown intense activity and has managed to be considered a member of the Greek Diaspora, which will allow him to serve its needs in the most effective way possible.
Mallikourtis welcomed the Archbishop, noting his dynamic presence at the helm of the local Church.
During the visit, issues of mutual interest were discussed and the mutual will of the parties for close cooperation between the Holy Archdiocese of Australia and the Consulate General of Greece in Sydney was reaffirmed.
