Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and All Africa expressed his gratitude to the Church of Greece, on today’s feast of the Patron Saint of Athens, Saint Dionysius the Areopagite, for the support provided by the Church of Greece to the Church of Africa.
“Today I want to greet with great love the Apostolic Church of Greece and Archbishop Ieronymos.
I also want to express our gratitude for their help and love for the missionary Church of the Apostle and Evangelist Mark,” said Patriarch Theodore who presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Holy Monastery of St. George in old Cairo.
In fact, the Patriarch of Alexandria remembered with emotion that he had been given the name Dionysios during his ordination as a deacon in the Holy Monastery of Agarathos in Crete, a name he kept until he was ordained a presbyter.
The Patriarch of Alexandria also referred to the COVID-19 pandemic, hoping that it would be over as soon as possible.
