The inaugural event of the 39th Sydney Greek Festival, organized by the Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales, was attended by an impressive crowd as reported by vema.com.au.
On the night of Friday, March 5, hundreds of Diaspora Greeks and more were present at the Enmore Theater, where the official opening of the Festival took place with a music program and dance performances by various dance groups.
During the event, the President of the Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales, Haris Danalis, the President of the Greek Festival, Ourania Karteri, as well as officials delivered greetings, including the Archepiscopal Vicar of Canberra, Archimandrite Prochoros Anastasiadis, who represented Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
