US President Joe Biden told reporters in Nantucket, Massachusetts, today that he would probably talk to the presidents of Ukraine and of Russia, Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin, about the situation between their countries.
Biden reiterated his support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
Referring to the detection of the new COVID-19 variant Omicron, the US president said that at the moment his administration was not considering the possibility of imposing new compulsory vaccinations. “We do not know much about the variant, only that it is of great concern.
I have decided to be careful,” he said, adding that his White House advisers had suggested travel restrictions from South Africa and seven other countries.
Biden finally said he was not at all worried about the big drop in Wall Street today, a trend that had been followed earlier by all the major stock exchanges in the world.
