“Casus Βelli” on the possibility of expanding the territorial waters of Greece in the Aegean, was repeated in today’s statements by the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
“On the issue of the Aegean, on the issue of the territorial waters of the Aegean, Turkey’s position has not changed. Nor has the decision taken by the Turkish Parliament changed. And every government and every party that has come to power kept the same decisive position and did not back down. Because this is a national issue,” the Turkish minister stressed.
“But Greece, in order to say something to the people, says such things. My friend Nikos Dendias was wrong and made erroneous statements. This decision has no force, but Greece does not only do that. As I said to some Europeans, Greece continued its provocations, such as laying cables on the seabed and doing bilateral exercises. Suddenly Greece announces NAVTEX, NOTAM and tries to close sea areas in the Aegean. And they announce places, they do not do any activity. That is, they continue the provocations”, said Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, speaking to Turkish journalists.
