On the great feast day of the Sunday of Orthodoxy, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will officiate at the Patriarchal Church of Saint George at the Phanar during the Great Vespers of Saturday, 23 March 2024, at 4:00 pm, after which His All-Holiness will tonsure Panteleimon Boubouras as an Archon of the Great Church of Christ.
The following day, Sunday, 24 March 2024, the Ecumenical Patriarch will preside over the customary Patriarchal and Synodal Divine Liturgy, during which he will perform the ordination to the Diaconate of Vasilios Pokhylets from Ukraine, who will serve in the Holy Metropolis of Korea.
The panegyric feast day homily will be preached by Metropolitan Nathanael of Kos and Nisyros.
After the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, the customary Trisagion Memorial Serice will be celebrated “for the repose of the souls of those who fought and died for our Orthodox faith” and the procession of the holy icons will follow to be led by the Patriarch and the concelebrating Hierarchs.
