President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is visiting Israel, since Monday, January 21, accompanied by his wife.
The Ukrainian President has arrived in Israel to sign a historic agreement with Prime Minister Netanyahu, which has been subject of negotiations for the last 15 years.
During his visit, President Poroshenko had planned to have a meeting with Patriarch Theofilos III of Jerusalem.
According to information by Romfea.gr, the Patriarchate cited health reasons and the formal meeting with the Patriarch was finally cancelled.
However, it is unknown whether the Patriarch and the President would have an unofficial meeting, since until now Patriarch Theophilos has not taken a position on the autocephaly issue of Ukraine.
