The Metropolitans Chrysostomos of Chalkida, Istiaia and Northern Sporades, Pavlos of Servia and Kozani, Chariton of Elassona and Nikiforos of Gortyn and Megalopolis, as well as the Bishops Nikiforos of Skopelos and Christoforos of Amphipolis, visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate today, Thursday, November 16, 2023.
The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, accompanied by the members of the Holy Synod, which meets in the Phanar, as part of its regular work for the month of November, received with cordiality the Hierarchs from Greece.
The new Shepherds of the three historic Metropolises, from the ecclesiastical Eparchies of the Ecumenical Throne in Greece, the so-called “New Lands”, requested and received, before their enthronement, the blessing of the Ecumenical Patriarch.
Also, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Chalkida presented to the Ecumenical Patriarch the newly elected assistant of Bishop Nikodimos of Skopelos, and Metropolitan Pavlos of Kozani the newly elected assistant of Bishop Christoforos of Amphipolis.
The Ecumenical Patriarch congratulated them on their deserved election, offered them a hierarchical engolpion, and wished them prosperous pastoral care, and the assistants a good ministry.
Then a luncheon was served.
