The new Consul General of Greece in Sydney visited the premises of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia in Sydney on Thursday, October 6.
The Archbishop welcomed to Australia the newly appointed Consul General and wished him every blessing and success in the mission assigned to him by the Greek State.
A constructive discussion followed, focusing on the needs of the Greek Diaspora on the fifth continent. It was agreed to maintain the close and good cooperation of the Greek Consulate in Sydney with the local Church.
The meeting was attended by Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis, the Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese, Archimandrite Christoforos Krikelis of the Ecumenical Throne, and Archdeacon Athinagoras Karakonstantakis.
During the visit, Consul General Malikourtis had the opportunity to visit the Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Theotokos and to be informed about its history, as well as the premises of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, where he met and spoke with its staff.
