The already good relations but also their further improvement and strengthening between the Church of Cyprus and the Embassy of Greece in Cyprus were confirmed during today’s meeting at the Holy Archdiocese of Cyprus, Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus, and the new ambassador of Greece Ioannis Papameletiou.
The Archbishop of Cyprus welcomed in his office, in a very friendly atmosphere, the new Ambassador of Greece, who just two weeks earlier had presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiades.
During this meeting, which is the first in the Holy Archdiocese, after assuming his new duties, Papameletiou exchanged views with the Archbishop of Cyprus on the national issue as well as on the current political and religious situation of the country.
In the end, gifts were exchanged and a meal in honor of the New Ambassador followed.
