Employees in the Diocese of Kition and the Diocese of Tamassos are in self-quarantine, as two positive cases of Covid-19 were identified, as a result of which restrictions were imposed on all employees.
According to the Cypriot media, two employees of the Diocese of Kition were identified as positive and belong to the transmission chain of twelve positive people. One of them, in fact, is the chauffeur of the Metropolitan of Kition.
Because the Metropolitans of Tamassos and Kition had met, instructions were given to put both of them in self quarantine. The two members of the Holy Synod, as well as the employees, will undergo a coronavirus test during the day.
Speaking to reporter.com.cy, the Metropolitan Isaiah of Tamassos stated that he was asked to isolate himself because he had a meeting with the Metropolitan of Kition. “We were told we had to be self-isolated. We feel fine, but we will do what we were told to do. We will do a test today and see the results. We must be the first to set an example and we will do what they ask us to do”.
