Metropolitan Stephanos of Philippi, Neapolis and Thassos visited the Theological School of Halki on Tuesday, 4 April 2023, accompanied by his associates.
The Metropolitan and his entourage were received at the entrance of the School by the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity, Bishop Kassianos of Aravissos, and the brotherhood with him. Afterwards, everyone went to the Chapel of the Holy Trinity Monastery where they venerated and chanted the Dismissal Hymn of the Holy Trinity.
During his brief address to the visitors, the Abbot, Bishop Kassianos referred to the history of the School, and its contribution to the Ecumenical Patriarchate and Orthodoxy in general, as well as certain important figures of its graduates.
In response to Bishop Kassianos, Metropolitan Stephanos expressed the joy himself and his entourage for the visit to the historic Theological School of the Great Church, which, as he said, is an opportunity to reconstruct everyone’s thoughts.
Afterwards, the visitors were shown around the Great Synodical Hall, the teaching rooms and the rich Library of the School, while they also sat at the table offered in their honour.
