The Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, has been awarded the Medal of St. Savvas by Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia.
The head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, who is visiting Budapest, met with the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, at the Hungarian government headquarters.
The highest ecclesiastical honour was bestowed on the Hungarian Prime Minister as “a sign of gratitude for the promotion of traditional Christian values, for the selfless support of the Serbian Orthodox Church’s diocese in Buda and for the outstanding personal contribution to strengthening the friendship between the two neighbouring nations”.
Bishop Irenaeus Batska and Lucian, Bishop of Buda, attended the ceremony of the Prime Minister’s award.
