In a solemn atmosphere, in the presence of a large number of faithful Christians, although it was a working day, the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross was celebrated in the Archdiocesan District of Northcote, Victoria.
On the day of the feast, Wednesday, September 14, Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta presided over the solemn Divine Liturgy at the Archdiocesan Church of the Most Holy Theotokos “Axion Estin” in Northcote.
During the Divine Liturgy, the rite of veneration of the Holy Cross was held with reverence and religious devotion according to the formal order of our Church, and before the apolysis, Bishop Evmenios preached the Divine Word to the congregation, wishing that the grace and blessing of the Holy Cross of Christ the Saviour may envelop the whole world and especially our afflicted society, but also the youth who is its future.
Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta also conveyed the blessings of Archbishop Makarios of Australia to all on this so important feast of Christianity.
