Metropolitan Georgios of Paphos issued an Encyclical for the conduct of the election process of the new Archbishop in Cyprus.
According to the provisions, the election procedure consists of two stages: the creation of a Triprosopon by universal suffrage and the subsequent election of the Archbishop by the Holy Synod.
The elections for the Triprosopon will be held on December 18 with a secret ballot and the right to vote for all registered Orthodox Christians on the state’s electoral roll.
Within three days of the election of the Triprosopon, the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus will convene to elect the new Archbishop of Cyprus.
