On Tuesday, the Holy Synod of the Archdiocese of Ohrid met to decide what would happen with Archbishop Ioannis and the Bishops under the jurisdiction of the Church of Serbia.
According to sources of the Archdiocese of Ohrid who spoke to orthodoxtimes.com, the Synod decided to give Ioannis and the four Bishops who belong to this ecclesiastical entity, personal dioceses, mainly in small towns or villages.
The Synod of the Archdiocese of Ohrid decided to send its proposal to the Patriarchate of Serbia in order to settle the issue.
As Metropolitan Timotheos of Debarsko-Kičevo stated after the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Archdiocese of Ohrid, and as the website religija.mk reports, the process of the accession of John and the four Bishops has begun, and the decisions have been taken which should be in harmony with the Orthodox Church of Serbia.
He added, in response to a journalist’s question, that several decisions have been taken, which are related to the division of the Bishops, but he clarified that they will be made known as soon as the Patriarchate of Serbia responds.
He expects this to happen when the Church of Serbia meets, probably around mid-May.
