Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece welcomed the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Holy Archdiocese of Athens this afternoon.
The Archbishop welcomed the Patriarch and his entourage, expressing his joy for the meeting, stressing: “We are glad every time we see you because you are a role model for us on many issues, both difficult and small, but mainly on issues within the Church that you handle in an excellent way.”
The Patriarch thanked the Archbishop for his cordial and fraternal welcome and expressed his joy for the visit in such a short time. He conveyed the blessing and affection of the Mother Church of Constantinople, as well as the wishes of all for the name day of the Archbishop. Adamantios Avgoustidis, whom he had known for many years, noting that he was a great clergyman and very educated.
Also present were the Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, Bishop Philotheos of Oreoi, the Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese, Archimandrite Varnavas Theocharis, Directors of services of the Archdiocese and the Holy Synod and associates.
