Archbishop Elpidophoros of America arrived in Kefalonia today, Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
The first to greet him was Metropolitan Dimitrios of Kefalonia, with whom he had a warm embrace.
During his reception at the airport, there was also the president of the community of St. Gerasimos in Manhattan, Gerasimos Athanasatos, the president of the Association of Kefalonians “Aenos” Vassilis Kokosis, expatriates from Kefalonia living in the USA, as well as several priests from Kefalonia.
The Archbishop of America was accompanied by the proistamenos of St. Gerasimos in Manhattan, Fr. Panagiotis Papazafeiropoulos, the proistamenos of the Cathedral of Saints Constantine and Helen in Brooklyn, Fr. Evagoras Konstantinidis, the Archdeacon, Dionysios Papiris, members of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and of the Leadership of 100.
After some rest, the Archbishop of America will visit the Orphanage of Argostoli, then the Mayor of Argostoli Theophilos Michalatos at the Town Hall of Argostoli, the Vice-Regional Governor of Kefalonia & Ithaca Stavros Traylos at the Regional Unit of Kefalonia and Ithaca and then the Metropolis of Kefalonia in Argostoli.
