In front of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the members of the Holy and Sacred Synod, the newly elected Bishop of Amissos Ioakeim was presented with the Announcement of his election (Mikro Minima).
Addressing the Bishop of Amissos, the Ecumenical Patriarch emphasized that the voted Bishop of Amissos is a cultured and modest clergyman, with brilliant studies in Byzantine history, while continuing his ecclesiastical ministry offering services at the Theological Seminary of the Holy Cross in Boston.
He also added that through this promotion, the Holy Archdiocese of America has shown that it is capable of honouring and rewarding the spiritual effort and toil of its children.
For his part, the newly elected Bishop of Amisos Ioakim expressed his gratitude to the Ecumenical Patriarch and the Holy and Sacred Synod for his election.
Then, in the Patriarchal Church of Saint George in the presence of the Synodal Archpriests, the Patriarchal Court and other clergy and lay pilgrims, the Bishop of Amisos performed the service of the (Mega Minima), where his election was formally announced to him, while he replied with the text of the Eucharist.
